Swatch welcomes Chinese New Year in spirited fashion with SWATCH WOOF, a wristwatch that honors the Year of the Dog.
In traditional Chinese culture, the dog – the 11th animal in the Chinese zodiac calendar – represents loyalty and bravery. And just as your Swatch is with you wherever you go, so too is man’s best friend. SWATCH WOOF communicates with its owner with a double-sided loop that has “Woof!” printed on one side, the inspiration for this pup’s name. A playful pooch on the gold-colored dial is eager to ring in the new year and a pattern of golden and red waves decorate the white silicon strap.
This New Gent model comes in special packaging decorated with red Chinese lanterns and the same dog that is wagging its tail on the watch’s dial.
The Year of the Dog is a special time for Swatch because it introduced its first Chinese New Year special in the last Year of the Dog in 2006. SWATCH WOOF is the first watch in Swatch’s second Chinese New Year cycle – it’s a new beginning, and that’s a treat worth barking for.
